Pour éviter l'attaque Keres contre la Scheveningen, Kasparov joue 5.... a6 comme avec s'il joue la variante Najdorf et avance 6.... e6 comme avec la Scheveningen : 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 a6 6.... e6. C'est la variante Najdorf style Scheveningen de la Défense Sicilienne. Les joueurs de la variante KAN arrive à cette position par 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 e6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 a6 5.Nc3 d6 6.... Nf6. Aussi malgré son nom, ce livre est aussi adressé aux joueurs de la variante KAN

To avoid Keres attack against Scheveningen variation, Kasparov plays 5.... a6 as if he wants to play Najdorf variation before 6.... e6 : 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 a6 6.... e6. This variation is known as Sicilian Defence, Najdorf variation, Scheveningen Style. This can be transposed from KAN variation with following moves order 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 e6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 a6 5.Nc3 d6 6.... Nf6. So even KAN does not figure in the title, this book is also for KAN variation player.
